Youngsters run wild in annual cross-country championships
MORE than 1,100 primary school children brought Parliament Hill Fields to a standstill on Friday when they turned out for the annual Cross Country Championships. Organised by the Camden Schools Sports Association, 23 schools from across the borough battled it out for top honours.
Youngsters from Hampstead filled the winners’ podium, with Christ Church being crowned champions with 30 points, Hampstead Parochial taking the runners-up spot with 28 points and New End Primary School finishing third with 25 points.
There was special praise for dynamite duo Elliot Reidy, who goes to Hampstead Parochial, and Sophia Parvizi-Wayne from New End, who won their respective races for the fourth year running.
