GOLDEN oldies proved a big hit at a spring tea dance for older people at Dick Collins Hall in Regent’s Park. Steve Maly, 58, who has been impersonating Elvis since he was just eight years old, provided the entertainment along with Gabriela Alexander, who sang Every Time We Say Goodbye by Ella Fitzgerald.
The event was organised by the Third Age Project, a Camden charity that supports the elderly.
Tony Bloor, 60, who organised the event, said: “It’s all about having a creative and active old age. Third Age is when you retire but not when you sit down and do nothing – that’s the Fourth Age. It’s not just about looking after us as pensioners but looking after the community as well.”
