Pro Touch soccer stars shine in One Youth Cup
MIDFIELD maestro Ard Sfaraq netted the winner as Pro Touch Community sealed a narrow win over Isledon Wolves on Thursday in the first-ever One Youth Cup at Haverstock School in Chalk Farm. The Haverstock pupil scored a screamer as he teamed-up with striker David Bangurah to lead his team to a 1-0 win over Wolves in the Under-12s competition. Organised by One Housing Group, the tournament aimed to unite diverse groups of youngsters through football.
It proved a huge success with more than 20 teams battling it out for honours.
There were goals galore as a team representing the Osean Somali Community Association beat King’s Cross Allstars 6-0 to win the Under-10s category.
Meanwhile in a thrilling Under-14s final, St Mary’s beat King’s Cross Allstars on penalties after the game finished 2-2 in normal time.
Delighted organiser Ash Rahman said: “We’re very pleased with the response. “The aim of bringing youngsters together through football worked well.”
