Quality of candidates
• I am sure I am not alone in finding the electoral system used in the current mayoral and London assembly elections as unfair as the one used in the recent elections in another country.
I am interested in the quality of the candidates as well as the number of seats and I am prepared to vote for candidates in other parties to achieve this.
Could we not have a full proportional representation system, with open party lists so that we can use our votes in a democratic manner?
I do not think I will bother next time as this is not representative democracy.
Maybe I should move to a place with real democracy.

Get out and vote
• I am urging all Muslim brothers and sisters in Camden to vote in the elections today, May 1.
Whatever party you are pleased with, it is very important to take part as it is in our interest as well as others in London.
London is the most diverse, multi-cultural city in the world and we have very important roles in society and in our daily lives.
It is only a minority who may think voting is Haram (forbidden) but without any evidence in the Sharia Law or in Quran, the vast majority of Muslims feel we have a duty to be involved in this city.
Vote for those who speak for you not those who speak and act against you.
