A pint and short back and sides?
REGULARS at a Dartmouth Park pub are the smartest-looking drinkers in town now that their own hairdresser drops in once a week. Hairdresser Arlene Stainthorpe (pictured page one) was asked by publican Nick May at the Dartmouth Arms in York Rise if she would set up a weekly haircutting session for drinkers.
Arlene, who pops in regularly for a pint at the pub, said: “This is not actually a new idea. In Scotland there has been a long tradition of offering haircuts in pubs and laundrettes, in fact, any of the places in villages that people would use.”
She cuts hair every Thursday from 4pm and, judging by the number of happy drinkers with short back and sides at the bar, her opening week has been a success.
