Arsenal striker Lianne has bagged 50 goals this season
Gunner girls clinch league title

STRIKER Lianne Sanderson will bid to break the half-century barrier on Monday when Arsenal Ladies take on Leeds United in the prestigious FA Cup final.
The 20-year-old has hit 50 goals in all competitions this term and will be aiming to extend her tally when the Gunners look to complete a trophy treble at the City Ground in Nottingham.
Unusually, Sanderson wasn’t on target on Thursday when Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea and retain the Premier League title in front of 5,000 fans at the Emirates.
Karen Carney put in a player of the match performance as she scored twice to lead Arsenal to a 4-1 victory.
A Kelly Smith penalty and a strike from 17-year-old Kim Little completed the rout.
Sanderson was back on the score sheet on Sunday in Arsenal’s final National Division match of the season against Blackburn. The England international scored from the spot to take her league account to 25 goals in 20 appearances.
Jayne Ludlow bagged
a brace, while an own goal and a strike from Faye White sealed
a 5-1 win as Arsenal completed a third successive league season unbeaten.
Sanderson has already bagged 10 goals in four FA Cup appearances,
But even if she doesn’t net in Nottingham, the super striker should retain the National Division Golden Boot Award that she won last season.
Manager Vic Akers will be hoping his team can retain the FA Cup on Monday as he aims to take his own golden tally to 29 major titles in 21 years.
n Kick-off is 1pm and the match will be shown live on BBC 1.

Spurs set for final game decider

THE title race will go down to the final game of the season after Spurs took three vital points from their game against Long Lane on Sunday. Striker Rosi Webb fired Tottenham in front after only 10 minutes, and then turned provider to set up Gill Blackmore for number two. Jessie Richards added a third, before Webb finished off what she started with her second of the game.
Spurs will be crowned champions on Sunday if they overcome Horley Town at the Fred Knight Sports Ground.
Kick-off is at 2pm.
