Tufnell triumph in their premier league
TRIUMPHANT Tufnell Park Rangers were on song on Sunday when they beat the Groucho Club in the final of the Musical Associations Cup at Kingsbury Town Football Club, Sponsored by the Pineapple pub in Kentish Town, Tufnell’s celebrations started before the match had even kicked-off when Nathan Reid was presented with the Golden Boot Award after netting 28 league goals this season. Despite the absence of injured duo Vaughn Dagnell and player-manager Steve Isbell, the Camden and Islington based team got off to the perfect start when captain Josh Yudkin opened the scoring within a minute of the kick-off.
Star striker Reid, 21, doubled the advantage with yet another clinical finish, before Tommy Lewis scored a top corner screamer to send Tufnell in at the break 3-0 up.
In the second-half 18-year-old striker Israa Sigola added his name to the score sheet with a stunning 30-yard free-kick. Jason Valmont was also on target as Tufnell ran out 5-1 winners to clinch a trophy in their debut season in the league.
