Police officers raid the Camden Road property
Police raid suspected crack dens
TWO suspected crackhouses in Camden Town could be closed by order of the courts today (Thursday) after police carried out raids on Tuesday morning.
Flats in Oakley Square and Camden Road were searched after police in riot gear forced their way in shortly before noon.
Officers believe they were being used as “flophouses” by crack cocaine users, and will seek a closure order from magistrates.
One man was arrested and a “pit bull type” dog was seized under the Dangerous Dogs Act during the raid in Camden Road.
Inspector Taylor Wilson, of the Camden Town Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said information from the community had prompted the swoops.
He said: “We’ve again displayed our commitment to try and reduce drug use in Camden Town.”
