Fruit tradition revived at school
ST Dominic’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Gospel Oak has pioneered the return of “treat Friday”, making it the only day of the week pupils can bring in sweets and chocolate. If anything naughty is found in their packed lunches during the rest of the week, it is confiscated and only given back to them at the end of the day. But to sweeten up what could otherwise perhaps be a bitter taste, students have wheeled out another tradition – the fruit stall, selling fruit to their peers for 20p a go.
