Cons celebrate as they edge Hornsey in Junior Cup final
THE champagne was flowing at the weekend after players from Constitution Football Club won their first major trophy in the Camden Sunday League with a narrow 1-0 victory over Hornsey in the final of the Junior Cup. Gary Miller showed great composure to net the winner from the penalty spot midway through the first-half after Reuben Malcolm was upended in the box. In a closely fought encounter, Reuben’s brother Daryl and Sam O’Neill helped Cons (pictured above) protect their lead and go on to claim a memorable win over their Division Two rivals.
Elsewhere Reddot came from a goal down to beat MDM and book their place in the final four of the President’s Cup. Mustafa Kaya gave MDM the lead. But hat-trick hero Liam Barnabie scored a timely treble to lead the Dots to an impressive 6-2 victory.
Two goals from John Donovan and an own goal completed the rout before Kaya added a late consolation for MDM with his second of the game.
