Medals galore at Winchester Project Champions League finals
TRIUMPHANT teams scooped silverware this week after winning the latest Champions League finals at the Winchester Project in Swiss Cottage. South Hampstead, who were competing as French side Lyon, were crowned Under-14s champions after storming to a 4-0 victory over rivals OK Club, representing Chelsea.
There was some consolation for the OK Club when their shot-stopper Jay Page was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament. There was also an individual award for Ben Solomon from Venue Football Club, who was voted the most sporting player of the competition.
Meanwhile Arsenal finally won a trophy as hosts Winchtonians captured the Under-16s title. In a nail-biting final, the Winch beat West End FC, who were flying the flag for Manchester United, 4-3 on penalties.
Winch star Jamie Chiagoro collected the Best Sporting Player mantle, while West End number one Sharif Ahmed got his hands on the top goalkeeper award.
