Snow showers praise on revamped school
A HALF a million pound children’s centre at Brecknock School was officially opened by newsreader Jon Snow on Tuesday.
The new multi-coloured linoleum play centre, outdoor deckings and awnings replace a disused swimming pool.
As well as a new vegetable patch and orchard in the playground, which has been re-tarmaced, the school office has been refurbished.
Associate governor at the Kentish Town school, Mr Snow (pictured), whose two adult daughters attended the school 20 years ago, addressed the attendees including Camden mayor councillor Nurull Islam and Lib Dem councillor Ben Rawlings.
“I don’t remember the swimming pool ever functioning” said Mr Snow. “We thought the building had no potential at all. I must say the architects have done a brilliant job.”
