It’s good news about the wall game
• PENELOPE Gibbs can rest assured (Camden’s wall game, Letters June 26) the price of the junior “drop-in” climbing session at Swiss Cottage leisure centre has not more than doubled. It remains at £3.25.
There may, however, have been some confusion because, in response to rising customer demand, we have just introduced a great new additional class for young people.
Where the junior “drop-in” session is based on fun climbing at a pace that suits the individual, the new Climb London junior club is more focused. It is designed to take complete beginners from the first steps off the ground through to climbing real rock. It costs £8.40 per session because children and young people will benefit from lower instructor-to-student ratios and personal progress reports.
The new club is being introduced following very successful trials at other leisure centres across London. Both activities will continue to run in tandem, offering visitors to the centre even greater choice of climbing options and opportunity to develop more advanced skills.
