Superstar George’s plea for more sun
HE once had a hit with Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me – and now pop star George Michael is getting the builders in to ensure just that. The singer, who lives in Highgate, has asked the Town Hall for permission to remove a verandah in his back garden which he says robs his ground-floor breakfast room of valuable light.
The home is double-fronted and boasts a library, guest rooms and quarters for a live-in house keeper. The shelter (pictured) which is a relatively new addition to the home, which dates from the late-1700s, also provides an extended balcony the singer can get to from double doors from his first-floor sitting room. It would be completely removed.
