Coal-fired, no thanks
• HUNDREDS of people concerned about climate change – many from Camden – have this week begun a protest near the Kingsnorth power station in Kent.
Kingsnorth is where the energy generator
E-on is proposing to build the UK’s first new coal-fired power station for 33 years.
Last year’s Climate Camp near Heathrow helped draw attention to the nonsense of a government supposedly committed to reducing emissions but also seeking to build a third runway. I hope this year will raise awareness about the craziness of building new coal-fired power stations.
If we build a new generation of coal-fired power stations (and we don’t give China assistance to move to cleaner technology), we will guarantee catastrophic runaway climate change.
I urge anyone who can to go down to the Climate Camp. Please show your support for this protest against coal. And write to your MP and register your concern about new coal-fired power stations.

Your comments:
What do all these eco-prats do when they go home at the end of their protestations against new power stations?
Why, they switch on their TV sets, their electric lights and their electric kettles for a nice cup of tea as they watch Eastenders, of course.
Do they not realise it's a 'supply and demand' situation - and the only way to stop the supply is for us all to revert to cave-dwelling?
We would then have to cut down trees and burn them in open fires for heating and cooking. Would that make these people happy?
