League club trials could be big break for talented duo
DELIGHTED duo Awet Gebreslasie and Mohamed Bettamer (pictured left) arrived back from Denmark to find they’ve both been invited for trials at League clubs.
Midfield maestro Awet will be heading off to Nottingham Forest on Monday to train with the Championship side after being recommended by coaches at the Pro Touch Soccer Academy. The Holloway schoolboy will then return to London where he will train with Watford.
Meanwhile team-mate Mohamed, who lives in Westminster, will rejoin the youth ranks at MK Dons for a six-week trial after impressing the Division One club earlier this year.
Awet, 14, revealed: “I’m extremely exciting about being given the chance to prove myself at a professional club. Hopefully I can continue the form that I showed for the Pro Touch Soccer Academy throughout the Dana Cup.”
The wannabe soccer stars are the latest names from the Academy to be linked with professional clubs.
Later this month former club- mates Elliot Boreham and David Bangurah will return to action after signing schoolboy contracts with Reading.
