‘Aquathon’ pair scoop trophies

DELIGHTED duo Alice Keane and Samara Williams hit the trophy trail on Saturday when they both won awards at the Greenwich Aquathon, which was held in Eltham.
Dubbed the “Clash of the Tritons” race, Alice, 16, completed her 500m swim in seven minutes, 43 seconds, before going on to complete a testing 5,000m run in 20 mins, 52 secs.
Overall, the speedster’s combined times proved enough to earn her a deserved spot on the winners’ podium, taking third place in the girls’ youth category.
Meanwhile Samara, who trains alongside Alice in the Camden triathlon team, won silver in the Tristars race after completing a 250m swim and a 2,500m run in a combined time of 12 mins, 49 secs.
