Our experience is hoardings today, offices tomorrow
• SOME years ago we did not protest when the builders were refurbishing Regent’s Park estate with long and overdue essential repairs we allowed them the use of our green for a builder’s hut and scaffolding and the privilege of advertising their company’s logo on a large hoarding .
Now British Land, a London-based property investment focused on managing, financing and developing prime commercial property has obtained planning permission through its agent dp9 of Pall Mall for a cabin with floor space of 139 sq m, enough office space for 16 staff, citing the builder’s tea hut as a precedent for their development depriving or limiting residents and public the use of this facility for at least four years.
We are prepared to assist any body or individual who resist the commercial exploitation of our gardens and open spaces. Hoardings today, offices tomorrow, is our experience. Protect our open spaces.
