‘He needs someone to dote on him in his old age’
Rescued cat seeks home to retire to

A STRAY cat that was plucked from the jaws of death by a good samaritan is looking for a loving home.
The tabby tom-cat was a whisker away from the great cattery in the sky when he was found by architect’s secretary Louise Bailey in Cressy Road, Gospel Oak, a fortnight ago.
He was close to starvation, missing most of his teeth, and could barely see out of his right eye.
Ms Bailey said: “He was in a right state. I thought he might have a terrible disease. He was a day away from starving to death and he was foaming at the mouth.”
Fearing the unnamed cat would be put down by the animal shelters, which were all full, Ms Bailey persuaded her boss to pay for vet treatment at the Well Animal Clinic in West End Lane.
The cat, which is now toothless, has been recuperating at Ms Bailey’s home in Savernake Road since then, but he cannot stay there – her landlord has a strict no pets policy.
Ms Bailey, who has rescued many wounded animals over the years, including a dog which she kept for 10 years, has put up posters around Gospel Oak to find the maligned moggie a permanent home.
She added: “He just needs to retire from being a stray. He can’t feed himself any more.
“He needs someone to dote on him in his old age. He talks a lot and he’s very loving.”
Anyone interested in adopting the cat should contact Louise on 020 7485 7442.
