Wardens to be redeployed
STREET wardens will leave the areas they have patrolled for six years to address “new priorities” in a move bitterly resented by some King’s Cross residents. The six-strong council teams of wardens have patrolled King’s Cross, Bloomsbury and Camden Town tackling anti-social behaviour since their introduction in 2002.
Town Hall crime chief Councillor James King announced on Tuesday that the teams would be moved to Gospel Oak and Cantelowes, with Bloomsbury keeping its team.
He added: “We are redeploying wardens in areas of Camden where they can have the most impact in dealing with and deterring anti-social behaviour.
