Hitman on fire: Jonathan Donoghue was
on target again with another two goals
Town in search of Vase glory
Spartan South Midlands League Cockfosters 2, Kentish Town 6
KENTISH Town will be on the trophy trail again this Saturday when they kick-off their campaign in the prestigious FA Vase. Town, who made their debut in the FA Cup last month, will have their work cut out for them as they travel to Bedfordshire to take on an experienced AFC Kempston Rovers side.
The Camden and Islington-based club will be hoping to continue the form that they showed on Saturday when they stormed to a resounding victory away against Cockfosters.
Despite going a goal down early on, Kentish Town pulled the scores level when Paul Butler scored from the penalty spot. Cockfosters edged back in front within minutes, but goals from debutant Larry Miller and Jonathan Donoghue saw a spirited Town side battle back to take the lead.
Substitute Karim Essiaghi came off the bench to increase the visitors’ advantage, before Donoghue grabbed his second of the game. Mark Doyle completed the rout late on to leave Kentish Town third in the table.
