Camden New Journal - Letters to the Editor
Published: 25 September 2008

An apology to leaseholders would have been better

• WELL done the leaseholders of Grafton Way in fighting off Camden’s unlawful demands for money (Victory in ‘£23,000’ battle, September 4).
Only a council would dare to behave in such an outrageous way; today even private freeholders know better.
But worst of all is Camden’s response: “We are committed to ensuring that leaseholders pay a reasonable share for works benefiting their property.”
If they had a shred of decency they would have said in public: “We are sorry we tried this on, in future we will behave properly.” But, of course, these are the people who want to destroy Talacre.
Enough said.
