Crunch time at Keepmoat Stadium: wide receiver Talla N’Diaye takes a big hit as London Blitz go under in BritBowl XXII
Blitz in Bowl heartbreak

THE London Blitz suffered a heartbreaking defeat against the Coventry Cassidy Jets on Sunday when they lost an epic BritBowl final by just a single point at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster.
The defending champions looked to be heading for victory when they opened up an 18 point lead towards the end of the first-half.
But the Finsbury Park-based club went on to relinquish their grip on the prestigious Boston Trophy as they lost 33-32, with the winning kick coming four seconds before the final whistle.
Running back Gareth Dauley opened the scoring when he plunged into the end zone from five-yards. Nathan Holt missed the extra point as the Blitz took an early 6-0 lead.
Wide receiver Rod Bradley increased the lead when he collected Stuart Franklin’s pass to score a touchdown. This time Holt added the extra point to make it 13-0.
The Jets reduced the deficit to make the score 13-7, but the Blitz battled back to increase their lead.
Franklin drove his team down to the Jets’ two-yard line with a 10-yard pass to Talla N’Diaye. The next play saw Jonathan Chilton dive across the goal line for another rushing touchdown. Holt again missed the extra point, giving the Blitz a 19-7 advantage.
Dauley then rattled off 70 yards virtually untouched to secure six more points. Franklin failed to extend the lead as the Blitz moved 25-7 ahead.
The Jets showed tremendous spirit to pull the score back to 25-21. The Blitz response was just as impressive, with Dauley grabbing his third touchdown of the game and Holt adding the extra point to give the Blitz an 11 point lead.
But the Jets reignited their engines and hit back with 12 unanswered points to seal a memorable victory, with rookie kicker Fraser Houston booting a 40-yard field goal in the final seconds of the match.
