Graffiti ‘tag’ left in burgled home points to new gang
THE letters LBC have only one obvious meaning in the London Borough of Camden – but they may have been hijacked for less worthy purposes by a new criminal gang. One unhappy householder returned to their home in Railey Mews, Kentish Town, to find the three letters tagged in their living room wall in a destructive graffiti signature last month.
Their computers and other valuables were gone.
And the chant of “LBC, LBC” has been heard more than once in Camden Town in the last few weeks – on one occasion, near the scene of a violent attack in an alley off Camden High Street that left a 20 year-old requiring treatment for three stab wounds.
He had been chased from Kentish Town Road through Inverness Street and into Underhill Passage by a mob, described by police as six-strong, following an attempt to steal his watch in Kentish Town venue Monsta Bar.
Police are wary of naming gangs but it is understood that they are monitoring the situation.
Twelve alleged members of the TMS gang, also known as The Money Squad, who are accused of running Camden High Street’s notorious cannabis market, appear at Magistrates’ Court in Asbo proceedings later this month.
