Lording it over us
• WITH Gordon Brown as Prime Minister we thought that was the end for Peter Mandelson as far as UK politics were concerned.
Now the leadership of the Labour Party has taken leave of its senses and recalled him to cabinet.
No problem with him not being an MP – they will make him a lord. His accent has got more posh recently anyway.
We all know what is said about sinking ships don’t we? As some jump back on board they will prepare to lose the 2010 election – the British voters are not fools.
“Third time lucky” Mandelson (his words) imagines that his previous resignations from Cabinet are forgotten – it will not be four times lucky in
re-election for the Labour Party.
If Vince Cable can knock the Lib Dems into shape it will replace Labour as the Opposition. HAROLD PRICE
