DRIVERS are removing a loose bollard to gain access to a Euston street which is supposed to be off limits, residents have warned.
The do-it-yourself traffic management has seen motorists remove the middle bollard at the end of Churchway.
May Prescott, 76, who lives nearby, said: “People get out of their car, take out the bollard, put it to the side of the road and leave it there. Then they just zoom through and turn left into
Doric Way, which is a one-way street.”
She has made about 20 complaints to Camden Council.
Ms Prescott added: “The other day I looked out of my window and – guess what? – a police car drove through where the bollard had been taken out. Surely they should know the rules.”
A council press official said the bollard was taken out at the request of police while resurfacing work was carried out in Eversholt Street. As the work is finished, a new bollard is being fitted to replace the damaged one.
