Swimmers’ first-day successes
SWIM stars from Camden Swiss Cottage started their season on Saturday with an opening-day victory in the National Swimming League at Southbury Road pool in Enfield. Competing against seven other London teams, Camden Swiss Cottage took 27 first, 11 second and seven third-place finishes to earn 359 points out of a maximum 400.
Meanwhile in the relay events, the super squad sealed a top-three finish in all 16 races, collecting 12 wins along the way.
Showing a great strength in depth, there were individual wins for Alex Peake, Bogac Ayhan, Felix Samuels, Alex Burgess and Lucas Perry-Hill.
The Men’s Open team also won three events, with Harry Needs, Alex Mackay and British champion Ed Walsh all touching home first in their respective events.
In the girls’ competition, there were also impressive wins for Devon Robins, Isa Ouwehand, Sophie Rittenhouse and Robin Neumann.
