The Surreal Madrid ‘D’ team celebrate their victory over Enate United
Madrid’s comeback win
THE Surreal Madrid ‘D’ team won the game of the weekend in the Camden Sunday League when they beat Enate United in a nine-goal thriller at Hackney Marshes.
Division Three newcomers United looked to be heading for only their second win of the season when Jack Hughes and Ruairi Joyce scored two goals apiece to open up a 4-1 lead.
But in a brave comeback, goals from Vinnie McCaughn, Glen Arthur, Chris Chamberlain, Ryan James and Mike Rodgers saw Madrid battle back to win 5-4.
Meanwhile, in Division One, Reddot moved seven points clear at the top with an impressive 5-1 win over Archway Allstars.
The Dots opened up a two-goal advantage in the opening 45 minutes thanks to goals from Liam Barnabie and Colm Lawlor.
Archway pulled a goal back, but Reddot were not to be denied.
The points were secured when Jason Medford came off the bench to bag a brace before Lawlor scored his second of the game.
