Brown on target in derby win
Greater London League
Division Two North
Camden Town 2, Hampstead 0
TITLE-chasing Town returned to winning ways on Sunday with a hard-fought victory over neighbours Hampstead at Regent’s Park.
Camden took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Carol Brown added the finishing touches to a neat passing move between Carmel Clinton and Suran Dickson.
With defender Maggie Murphy keeping the Hampstead attack quiet, it was only a matter of time before Camden found the all-important second goal, which came when Mary Guest’s corner was deflected past the keeper for an own-goal.
Hackney 0, Katabella 6
THE Kats’ upturn in league fortunes continued on Sunday with an emphatic victory over Hackney.
Despite a slightly ragged start, Katabella went in at the break with a two-goal advantage thanks to a super strike from Chelsea Berlin and an own-goal.
The Camden-based Kats ran riot in the second half, with Jasmin Crilly, Franziska John, Amy France and Tamar Koch all finding the back of the net.
