Super Cally get national medal haul
A TEAM of top swimmers from the Cally Masters were celebrating success in Sheffield at the weekend when they competed in the National Championships at Ponds Ford International Pool.
Competing in the 25-29 years age group, Christine Jaeggi made waves after winning a silver medal and a bronze in her respective 200m and 50m butterfly events. And Jaeggi just missed out on a hat-trick of medals when she finished fourth in her 100m butterfly event. Also competing for the Caledonian Road-based club were Andrew Jennison and Jonathon Kernkraut, who both swam sub-one-minute times in their age groups. Jennison finished fifth in the 400m individual medley, while Kernkraut took 10th place in the 100m butterfly. Team-mates Sara Perry, Camilla George and Brett McLean also all put in creditable pool performances despite missing out on the medals.
Meanwhile, the Cally Masters relay team of Jennison, Jaeggi, George and Kernkraut finished seventh in their medley event and eighth in the freestyle.
