Staff hold up “I love hawley” beermats
Hawley parties
ONE of Camden Town’s most popular pubs opened its doors for the first time in eight months after it was gutted by a fire in February.
The Hawley Arms in Castlehaven Road was a mecca for locals and celebrities alike – attracting unwanted publicity for its popularity with some of the borough’s best-known stars.
Publicans Ruth Mottram and Doug Charles-Ridler, who hold the licence of the Greene King pub along with a third partner, threw a three-day private party to thank hundreds of online supporters who stayed loyal during the hiatus.
The official public opening was on Friday and bar staff – who all worked there before the fire – said it was good to be back behind the beer pumps.
