Cliff ‘Minty from EastEnders’ Parisi flicked the switch on Highgate’s Christmas lights on Friday
Light drama: EastEnders star adds some sparkle to Highgate village Christmas fair
EASTENDERS star Cliff Parisi brought a festive sparkle to Highgate village on Friday when he switched on the Christmas lights. Local resident Mr Parisi – who is better known as Albert Square’s love-lorn mechanic, Rick “Minty” Peterson – flicked the switch at the corner of Pond Square and Highgate High Street to get the holiday season under way, while onlookers enjoyed free hot chocolate.
The £37million invested by Haringey Council in Icelandic banks meant there were slightly fewer decorations than in previous years, but residents and traders took money out of their own pockets to make sure there was light despite the economic gloom.
