Diana and Laura Molony in their leaky loo
Brollies up: Life with leaks
A MOTHER and daughter have revealed how flooding at their block in Regent’s Park estate has got so bad they take an umbrella to the toilet when it rains. Diana Molony says she has had four three-piece suites ruined because of floods in the Munster Square home she moved into 10 years ago.
She and daughter Laura are desperate to move out. They believe massive internal flue pipes have corroded and act as a funnel pouring rainwater collected on the flat roof into every home. “It’s exhausting,” said Ms Molony. You fight and fight and fight and nothing gets done.”
She wants compensation and her home fixed once and for all – otherwise she will continue fighting for a transfer.
Camden Council says there are no structural problems in the block. Problems with leaks were caused by flooding from the flat above. A press official said the roof was in “good repair”.
