Jon Snow with the Torriano’s Suzi Martin

The outlook: Snow with lots of ice and a shot of vodka

TAKE a large shot of vodka, mix with mango liquor, add a slug of mango juice, top it up with cream and then plonk a raspberry on top – and what do you get? The “Jon Snow”, an exclusive new cocktail created by bar staff at the Channel 4 news reader’s local pub.
Bar owners Dean Guberani and Suzi Martin, who run the The Torriano in Kentish Town, decided to throw a party to thank people who helped their campaign against property developers, who wanted to build flats upstairs from their pub. The Town Hall’s planning committee threw out the proposal after Jon Snow argued it would threaten the Torriano with closure.
Ms Martin said: “This winter we had to honour our good friends for helping to save the Torriano, and a cocktail named after them was the best way to do this.
“I had a chat with Jon and found out all his favourite ingredients and then invented the ‘Jon Snow’.
“Jon said it was absolutely delicious and since Saturday it has proved to be our most popular cocktail.”
