Premier League
Bristol Academy 1, Arsenal 4
ARSENAL moved six points clear at the top of the table on Sunday after coming from a goal down to see off Bristol Academy. A superb 25-yarder from Grace McCatty put the hosts ahead on the half hour mark, but four second-half goals, including a hat-trick from Julie Fleeting, secured the points for Vic Akers’ side.
Faye White was also on target as Arsenal made it 11 straight wins with a 4-1 victory.
League Cup: First Round
Lner 2, Katabella 7
All Stars 2, Camden Town 6
THE Kats eased through to the second round of the League Cup on Sunday after hitting seven goals past LNER. Battling against a wet pitch that made flowing football practically impossible, Katabella striker Chelsea Berlin still showed her class with five impressive finishes. Jen Coupland and Ewa Holender were also both on target.
Rivals Camden Town also progressed into the next round with a comfortable 6-2 win over London All Stars.
Carol Brown and Jac Thayer scored two goals apiece, while Susanna Twidale and Caroline Taunton also found the back of the net.
SE Combination League
Spurs 0, Northampton Town 3
SPURS Ladies are facing a relegation dogfight after losing their crucial home game against fellow strugglers Northampton Town. Tottenham quickly need to find a way to stop leaking goals after the Cobblers Ladies sealed a comfortable win.
Spurs will be hoping for a change of fortunes when they host Norwich City on Sunday.
