‘Stables venue is the Las thing we need’
A 700-seat African-themed cabaret venue proposed for Stables market would push Camden Town further towards being “Las Vegas without the sunshine”, neighbours of the proposed restaurant have complained. The promoters of Shaka Zulu this week shared early plans with residents’ groups. Castlehaven Community Association director Eleanor Botwright said: “With this opening at Stables market and the whole of Hawley wharf to be developed it is going to be like a small bit of Las Vegas without the sunshine here.”
Shaka Zulu CEO Robert Payne said: “We will do everything within our power to be an exemplary operator within Stables market.”
A licensing application will be heard tonight (Thursday).
