Branch out! Pupils add colour to park
TREES were sporting unusual blossoms this week in Waterlow Park after school children draped examples of their art work from branches. The annual event, organised by Lauderdale House, saw children from Brookfield, St Michael’s and Torriano infants schools pick a tree in the Highgate park and then decorate it with pictures they had created in their art classes.
Each school chose a theme, ranging from letters of the alphabet to their favourite nursery rhymes.
Camden mayor Nurul Islam visited the park on Friday to meet the children behind the project and offer his congratulations to those who brightened up the leafless trees in the middle of the festive season.
