Spurs 0, Enfield Town 5
SPURS’ relgation fears worsened on Sunday when they were beaten at home by league leaders Enfield. With illness dismantling the first team, a young Spurs side failed to cope with the visitors’ relentless attack as they suffered one of the biggest defeats of the season.
The result leaves Spurs two points off the bottom, but crucially having played two games more than their relegation rivals.
Greater London League Division Two North
Katabella 2, Camden Town 3
TITLE chasers Town went top of the table with a thrilling 3-2 win over rivals Kats on Sunday. Town were ahead on five minutes when Mary Guest squared to Carmel Clinton, who calmly beat the keeper. Top scorer Guest doubled the advantage with her 12th goal of the season.
Kats pulled a goal back courtesy of a neat finish from Chelsea Berlin, but hopes of a revival were dashed when Guest scored her second to restore the visitors’ two-goal cushion.
Katabella showed tremendous spirit and pulled another goal back through Berlin, but Camden held out to take the points. The teams meet again this Sunday in the first round of the Russell Cup.
