Fountain feature for King’s Cross
THE world’s largest “dancing” fountain is heading for King’s Cross, the company behind the St Pancras railway lands development have announced. The on-hold project, the biggest of its kind in Europe, will have as its highlight a computer-controlled fountain of 1,100 separate jets.
It will be installed in front of the former Granary building, which is itself being redeveloped for the University of the Arts London.
Developers Argent say the fountain will open in 2011 with special lunchtime performances. Music accompanying the jumping spray will be chosen at random from suggestions made by the public.
