Peel skin Boston in pool league
SIR Robert Peel will go into the New Year with a two-point advantage at the top of the Division One table after beating Boston Arms 5-4 in their final Chalk Farm Pool League fixture of 2008. Closest rivals Boston Boys are also well-placed after securing back-to-back victories over Gloucester Arms and the Unicorn. But third place Boston Rimmers are now 17 points behind the league leaders after losing 6-3 to the Sir Robert Peel ‘B’ team.
In Division Two, POW Dynamos are 13 points clear of the chasing pack after storming to an 8-1 win over the Gloucester Arms ‘B’ team.
Daniel Gooch are second – being awarded a
6-0 victory in their match after opponents the Holloway failed to field the required six players.
Elsewhere Grafton Arms beat Whittington Stone 6-3, while Regent’s Park recorded only their second win of the season with a 5-4 victory over Grafton Ladies.
