Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 12 Febuary 2009

The birds are back

• THE little garden birds have returned.
I have been wondering why we had lost for many years our little winter Robin but through all that terrible weather two of them have been jumping around my tree as was a Coal Tit and various other lovely birds.
Maybe the explanation is because Camden had finally stopped spreading poison everywhere for weeds. Unfortunately though, Camden still persists in cutting all the berry-bearing bushes when the birds most need that natural food.
And please, please, stop throwing bread around as it only feeds pests and kills the garden birds because they choke on lumps of bread.
If you love birds, hang seeds on the branches that the cats cannot get to and remember to leave water when everywhere is frozen.
