Badminton bonanza
YOUNGSTERS flocked to the Somers Town Sports Centre in Chalton Street on Monday to battle it out in a badminton bonanza. After three hours of nail-biting action, the Parliament Hill School ‘A’ team got their hands on the first trophy of the day when they lifted the girls’ Year 9 crown.
Not to be outdone, title rivals Camden School for Girls soon joined Parliament Hill on the winners’ podium after winning the girls’ Year 10 and 11 trophy.
Meanwhile in the boys’ category, William Ellis fought off strong competition from South Camden Community School to capture the Year 9 title.
But South Camden soon got their own back when they beat the Highgate Road-based secondary school to claim the Year 10 and 11 trophy.
Organised by the Camden Schools Sports Federation, the tournament returns in March when Year 7 and Year 8 teams get their chance to take to the court.
