Taff Islam
An honour for Taff
TOP football mentor Taff Islam is hoping that the support of the public can help him capture the most prestigious accolade of his career. The former Arsenal reserves player has been recognised for all his hard work both on and off the pitch after being nominated for the 2008 Coach of the Year title at next Saturday’s British Asian Sports Awards.
Taff, who lives in Swiss Cottage, is an instrumental part in the Pro Touch Soccer Academy, an organisation aimed at helping disadvantaged players from across the borough make it as professional footballers.
Taff, 25, revealed on Wednesday: “I’m so happy with the nomination. I feel honoured to be recognised for my work within the community. Hopefully people will vote for me and continue to help me help the kids.”
