St Valentine’s Day Massacre? Lithgow looking to shoot down Combo United

FOOTBALLERS from Lithgow Allstars will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to 2009 on Saturday when they finally return to action in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League.
The trophy-chasing under-15s side, made up of top players from across Camden and Islington, have only played once in the past six weeks as the wintry weather continues to disrupt sporting fixtures.
This weekend the Allstars (pictured) are aiming for a Valentine’s Day
massacre when they face rivals Combo United.
Lithgow were in unstoppable form in their last game as they sealed a thrilling victory over the London Tigers ‘B’ team.
Led by captain Jerry Monaghan, the Allstars ran riot with Sayer Alkozi
topping the goalscoring with two well-taken goals. Lum Berbatovci, Glen Mendez, Jay Warby and Sidney Mola were also all on target as Lithgow ran out 6-4 winners.
There were more
celebrations for Allstars when former Camden United player Akeel Miah returned to Regent’s Park to present the team with a brand new kit, which he hopes will help spur them on to glory this season.
