Ladies in final four

TRIUMPHANT young footballers from Camden School for Girls (pictured) were still celebrating this week after being crowned champions of the Year 7 Federation Cup.
Held at Acland Burghley School in Tufnell Park, the all-conquering girls saw off competition from a host of top teams to win the prestigious trophy.
Organised by the Camden Schools Sports Federation and former Arsenal Ladies and England star Kirsty Pealling, the tournament proved a huge success, with Young Sports Ambassador Sasha Kelly (right) turning up to present the winners with their medals.

FA Cup Quarter Final
Arsenal 3, Leeds 1

ARSENAL Ladies marched into the final four of the FA Cup on Sunday with a scintillating victory over Leeds Carnegie.
Vic Akers’s side proved too strong for their Yorkshire opponents as they ran out 3-1 winners to set up a mouth-watering semi-final clash with Everton.
It took the cup-holders just 15 minutes to break the deadlock when the unfortunate Leeds keeper Carly Telford bundled Kelly Smith’s corner into her own net.
Jayne Ludlow doubled the advantage six minutes later when she headed home Rachel Yankey’s cross to finish of a neat passing move.
Jade Moore pulled a goal back for the visitors, but it proved little more than a consolation after Gemma Davison slotted home from close range to wrap up the win.

South-East Combination
Spurs 0, Lewes 5

SPURS’ hopes of surviving the drop were dealt a blow on Sunday when they were soundly beaten by Lewes.
A depleted Tottenham side slumped closer to the relegation zone as they suffered a confidence-sapping 5-0 defeat.
Nichola Cable and Jessie Richards both tried in vain to pull Spurs back into the game, but were unable to break down Lewes’s resilient rear-guard.

Division Two North
Camden Town 1, Kikk 1

TABLE-TOPPING Town are four-points clear of their rivals despite being held to an unlikely draw against KIKK on Sunday at Regent’s Park.
Camden dominated the game throughout and were worth more than the single goal that Sarah Boyall scored midway through the first-half.
Town were made to pay the price for a string of missed chances when the visitors scored late on to steal a share of the spoils.
The result is a far cry from Camden’s previous outing, which saw them score seven away against Hackney Reserves.
Carmel Clinton grabbed a hat-trick, while Caroline Taunton scored twice. Carol Brown and Jaclyn Thayer were also on target as Town ran out 7-1 winners.
