Will GP upheaval lose us lifesavers?
• UNITEDHEALTH who now run the Camden Road Surgery summoned patients to be consulted on how to improve their service.
Having attended this meeting on March 4, I am deeply concerned at the arrogance of the UnitedHealth’s management. On arrival we were told that management had prepared an agenda for the meeting. We (some 20 patients) said that we were not interested in their agendas, and that we were capable of voicing our concerns without one.
Needless to say there was a barrage of dissatisfaction with the new management’s way of doing things, and the feeling was unanimous.
My real concern is that amid all this profiteering and upheaval, we are going to lose our senior doctor and loyal reception staff. We have already lost one senior doctor a year ago – and the surgery manager who doubled up as surgery nurse soon after the takeover.
I owe my life to my GP, the senior doctor in the surgery. Before the takeover by UnitedHealth the system worked perfectly. It’s disorganised chaos now. I can’t understand the logic of fixing something which was not broke.
