Freefall daredevils: And 12,000ft later, happy landings for brave fundraisers
A TEAM of volunteers really did jump to it when they were asked to help raise money for the Winchester Project in Swiss Cottage. Sports development officers from the centre joined local residents on Saturday for a
nerve-jangling tandem skydive in Norfolk.
The group of daredevils harnessed themselves to an instructor before jumping out of a plane at 12,000ft.
They then endured a 120mph freefall for more than 40 seconds before pulling their parachute at 5,000ft and returning to Earth with a resounding bump of achievement.
Overall the centre is hoping that the event will help raise £25,000, which will be used to help modernise the building in Winchester Road and improve their sports facilities.
