Five wins in a row for Hampstead
London Three North-West St Albans 6, Hampstead 19
HAMPSTEAD stretched their winning run to five games on Saturday with a commanding victory away at St Albans. The visitors got off to a flying start and took the lead when in-form fly-half Dave Mold scored a long-range penalty.
St Albans managed to pull the scores level, but Hampstead quickly regained their stranglehold on the game when winger Ben Ferhnert took advantage of a superb interchange of play to score a try under the post.
Mold successfully tucked home the conversion to extend Hampstead’s lead, but the home side respond with another penalty minutes later to make the score 10-6 at the break.
Hampstead managed to deal with the appalling weather conditions better than their hosts in the second-half and went on to seal a convincing 19-6 victory thanks to a hat-trick of successful kicks from the ever-reliable Mold.
Hampstead remain four points behind leaders Harpenden with just two games to go.
