We’re all stewards of an environment under threat
• DEVELOPERS who want to build 22 luxury flats with their own swimming pool and other sports facilities beside Primrose Hill, justify the scale of their proposals because they have paid £53million for the land.
Because these flats must sell for between £5.5million and £12.5million, their agents have advised that “the introduction of affordable tenures into the scheme would have an impact on the private sales values”.
A yet more outrageous development of 72 flats in a 13-storey tower block is proposed for the Twyman House site, wedged between the Regent’s Canal, Camden Road and Bonny Street in order to meet the “affordable housing” requirement.
These applications will severely damage both Primrose Hill and the Regent’s Canal, and must be stopped. We’re stewards of an environment which is increasingly under threat.
