Town Green action now
• IN November we were told a consultation was to be held and we have learned that strong support for the Town Green idea at Talacre Gardens was the overwhelming outcome.
Why doesn’t our listening council get going?
Residents have had to fight tooth and nail to prevent encroachment of the park by private developers.
We long for the day when we can be secure in the knowledge our intensively used park is to be safe for ever.
William Nawrocki (Letters, April 2) is not the only person dying to know what is going on behind those sinister Town Hall closed doors.

• IN December I participated in a focus group overseen by the Office of Public Management where the unanimous vote was in favour of Talacre Gardens becoming a Town Green.
Furthermore, 247 park users and local residents responded to a questionnaire that was difficult to navigate but persevered nonetheless.
My overriding concern at the time with Camden Council’s behaviour was, who would scrutinise the results once they were in and collated? Now it seems that my concerns have been validated by Camden’s reluctance to publish the results.
Is this not once again a complete disregard for local opinion and where £25,000 was spent on “consultation” a profligate use of public money?
